THE BESTSELLER (3)

#Episode_Three

"Your Excellency, Officer Andy needs to disappear before this whole case blows hot." The DPO whispered into his cellphone.

"I want him taken out." Replied a female voice on the other side.

The DPO flinched, unbelieving what he thought she meant. 🤔

"Are you saying we should delete him Ma?"  He probed for clarity. "Kill him immediately, and make it look like an accident. Nothing should be traced to me, and I am willing to pay you any amount once it is done." She hung up.

Now the DPO just realized this woman will stop at nothing to cover her tracks. If he does not act fast, he may be staring at the wrong end of her barrel soon.

He immediately sent an SMS to Andy, "meet me at the rendezvous at exactly 8pm, you're leaving town tonight".

Andy was narrating his ordeal to a colleague when the friend's phone rang. His cheap Tecno phone had issues, so he put all calls on speaker mode else he would not hear a thing. "The Client wants Andy out of the picture. Take some boys with you to the rendezvous by 7pm, he'll be there for 8. Leave a suicide note in his pocket, and drive straight to my office with a photo of the body. There, the three of you will receive #2m Naira each."

#Matsunde has never held his own #500k cash before, now his friend's dead body stood between him and becoming an overnight millionaire. In his head, he'd quickly considered doing the job alone and pocketing all #6m Naira before bedtime tonight. 🤔

"You're a wizard o, how did you know he was going to call me with this offer?" Officer Matsunde asked the now visibly troubled Andy.

Andy knew he had messed up, and to cover their tracks, the First Lady and his boss will send a killer squad after him. And Matsunde is the only dirty cop who can shoot his own mother for a cold bottle of beer. So he came here straight with an expensive bottle of brandy to buy himself a deal with the hitman.

Gov. Adda had been in total denial of everything since that fateful night. His aides paid the government house journalists very well, and they accepted the governor's angle, hook, line, and sinker. So the matter seemed to have died a natural death.

Wama on the other hand, was quietly building her case. She has the only witness to the rape in her corner, she has Andy's official ID Card that was found at the crime scene where her sister was murdered, and now she had just received a phone call from someone called Andy who is willing to testify and expose the First Lady's involvement in her sister's murder.....

..............................................

The Boeing 787 British Airways flight from Abuja, just touched down at the Heathrow Airport in London.

It's been over a month since #Atando, the old security guard who was Wama's secret card, mysteriously vanished. Andy's corpse was found strung up a tree with a suicide note in his pocket, confessing to killing Comfort alone out of jealousy that she was seeing another lover. All happened within 24hrs to the first hearing. 🤔🤔

She no longer had a case, someone made sure she didn't.

As she alighted from the plane, the only thing on her mind now was "rest". Eventhough she had an appearance to make at an Anti-Rape rally in central London on Saturday, she really needed to be alone for a while to clear her head.

As she stood there mindlessly staring at the conveyor belt passing traveler's bags around, she caught a glimpse of someone she knows, it was Mrs. Adda, the First Lady. Wama stepped behind a fellow traveler to avoid being seen.

Mrs. Adda just flew in from Paris, where she usually goes to shop for her designer outfits. A motorcade of trolleys follow behind her, as she majestically swung her expensive hair left and right. Some people stopped and stared in awe or disgust of this display of affluence. 😠

Gov. Adda was also in London to see his doctor, but the press carried that he came to meet and invite some foreign investors to invest in his State's Agricultural sector.

His London connect has already arranged and paid some jobless Brits to dress well and appear at a certain location on Saturday for a free lunch and photo-op with the Governor. These photos will be sent and published in the Nigerian press, and the people will believe he really traveled in their best interest. Some of them will even share the photos on social media, praising the Governor for working to grow the State's economy. 😂

If only he knew what fate had in store for him on Saturday. 🤔

On Saturday morning, Wama made sure she finished from her appointment early, then rushed to attend a second event at the Regent"s Park in london.

Gov. Adda had finished giving his rousing speech about agriculture and the need for his billionaire(imaginary) audience to invest in Kwararafa State. Pictures were taken. These investors must really be hungry, some of them kept asking for more food. Some even collected extra to take home.

Mrs. Adda was flaunting her new Versace gown and sun glasses to-match, when she noticed a lady photographer approaching for a close shot. She moved closer to her husband for that kind of "relationship-goals" photo, then she saw the face, it wasn't a normal photographer.

Wama paid a poor guy to give her his gear and camera. She walked into the hall unnoticed, since she wore what all the other photographers had on. Only that she was on a different mission.

Mrs. Adda tried to tug at the husband's shirt, but it was too late.

Wama pulled out a 9mm glock pistol, and didn't waste any time.

The gun blasted once. People took cover, but not the First Lady. She was too shocked to move. And the bullet lodged perfectly in her chest as she collapsed to the floor.

Wama went round the table and found the Governor hiding under the table.

"I am sorry" he muttered.

"I am sorry I raped you. I was abused as a child and sexually molested also, so I thought it was okay to do that. My entire childhood was marked by sexual torture. I didn't know anything else, other than being manhandled by anyone stronger than I was." He started to cry, when he heard how his wife was struggling to stay alive, but life was slowly oozing out of her lungs. 😢😢

"And my wife always told me that women love sexually violent men. That the roughness and pain is a turn-on to ladies, that's why even when she cried and begged me to stop, I didn't. It's the only way she enjoys it. So I thought your NO meant YES too. I didn't even know my wife was responsible for your sister's murder either, until last week." Wama squeezed the trigger. She didn't want to hear his meaningless tales anymore.

The bullet found his abdomen and didn't kill him.

She shot him again, as the dazed man trid to stand up and run for his life. This time around, the bullet found his eye. He fell backward and blood gushed from his mouth and nose.

She pulled out her phone and stopped the recording. Sent the file to her journalists friend in Abuja.

She wants the world to know the truth and feel her pain. She had lost everything because of these two. She thought of the pain Comfort suffered before she died. And she began to weep uncontrollably.

As she raised a hand to wipe her face, a bullet tore her jaw apart. And a second one hit her between the eyes. She died before she hit the ground.

An armed security guard had sneaked in through the back door, and has just put an end to the whole story.

The video camera on the tripod had a red light on, it had recorded the entire incident. The world will soon know the Governor and his wife for what they really were. Animals.

THE END!
