Episode_One

"I'm not choosy, #Rahila, he is cute and rich, I like him, but I'm not just interested in having a relationship with him." #Laraba swiped the screen of her iPhone 11 as she responded. 

Rahila wasn't convinced. #Jude is the man of every woman's dream; tall, handsome, muscular, rich, and well educated. He has been on Laraba's case for the past three months, but she never looked at him twice. 

"What exactly do you want in a man?" Rahila probed further. Now, this got everyone's attention. 

Laraba dropped her phone on the table and smiled at the answers already forming in her head. ☺

"I want a man who knows what he wants. A man who is chasing goals like a slave, and not a dreamer who lives like a King. I want a man who knows the difference between beautiful and pretty." She grabbed her phone and tried to look serious, knowing that she left them confused. 😕

The ladies are fond of doing these hangouts every weekend, and all the other four are in a relationship except for Laraba, who is the most successful among them.

"Be there thinking you are smart and witty or be deceiving yourself that there's still time." #Felicia said with a dry tone.

Laraba is a beautiful lady in her thirties, chubby and smart. She has always lived an independent life, so she never felt the need to want anything men had to offer. Her Firm consulted for the World Bank, and she owns a jewellery shop at the luxurious Ama Pyramids Mall, in Abuja. She loves to live a simple lifestyle, making it difficult for people to know her real net worth. But she's a self-made millionaire. 

Felicia is a noise-maker. Whenever the girls are together, her voice could be heard from a mile away. And it is believed that she laughs uncontrollably like a hyena. 😂

She is an Office Clerk at a Law Firm but drives an expensive BMW 3series worth her ten years' salary. How she did it, we still don't know. But rumour has it that the "Kayan Mata" in her wardrobe is the best in the market. 👌

Felicia has a poor, young architect for a fiance. They've been engaged for two years, but if she marries him now, certain benefits will cease to befall her. #Felix would not be able to give her the life she's enjoying as a hot single lady in a big city. But Felix has another fiancee in Gboko whom he's planning to marry once Felicia uses her connections to help him secure a good job. 

Rahila is the religious one in the group. Still a virgin and sees it as her ticket to getting a good husband and a good marriage. To her, she is better than everybody else and does not shy from telling the world how proud she is. 

She has been dating Bro #Monday for five years now, and the two have hugged each other only three times in that period. She believed that too much intimacy is a sin. If they are not fasting for a breakthrough, they are binding the demons from their village hindering their marriage. She works in a business centre as a typist, Monday is their Pastor's driver and P.A.

What Bro Monday doesn't know, is that his virgin fiancee, who is also the lead singer in the church choir, is his oga's side chic. 😢

"What makes you think #Josh is faithful to you?" Laraba asked #Mary who believed her relationship is the best in the world. 

"Because I am faithful to him. And because we tell each other almost everything, this helps us work through everything together." Mary said in an almost scornful way. 😉

"And he tells you the whole truth all the time, right? All the stories about every woman wanting him or hitting on him, and how he doesn't have time for anyone else but you". Laraba laughed. 😂😂

They all believe that Laraba is either a lesbian or a chronic feminist. She does not believe that she has to become a fool for any man to love or want her. She is always about her career, business and growth. Last year, a young airforce pilot from Kaduna did everything to marry her, but she dodged him like a plague. She doesn't just want to be somebody's wife, she wants to make and own her name. #Funmi is the only friend who understands her. 

Funmi, a successful banker and a relationship expert has been in a relationship with the same guy for nine years straight. She does not have the patience and time to jump from man to man every now and then. So she decided to make herself happy with this one. To her, all men are the same so long as you have your own money. So why stress yourself with different demons every time? Just make your money and men will line up to do your bidding. Her boyfriend, #Uche, is a pharmacist and with her help, owns a big pharmaceutical store in Gwagwalada. He does not joke with Funmi at all, they'd have been married since, but she kept dragging her feet whenever he brought up the topic. She is just scared that marriage could change everything.

While they sat there dissing each other and laughing, one box-headed guy walked up to their table and asked to speak with Laraba privately. She politely turned him down by asking him to join their table instead. He smiled casually, shook hands with all the ladies, then dragged a chair from the next table and placed it beside Laraba. 

They didn't pay any more attention because there was nothing WOW about his person. They knew he was already dumped before he even sat down, but what they didn't know is that this is the only guy in the world that has everything Laraba is looking for in a man. 

Jude, who was keenly watching the ladies from afar wanted to come and scatter the table, but his friend begged him to calm down and see what happens.
