MAN IS THE WEAKER SEX

Growing up I saw how my old lady (mum) would fall sick and be taking injections but still go to work, come home and cook for everybody before retiring to bed - if we allowed it with our noise-making around the house. 🕺🤸🏾‍♀️🤼‍♂️🤾🏾‍♀️🏃🏾‍♀️🏃🏾‍♂️

I still remember how she was pregnant with one of my ugly brothers but kept pounding yam for us every Saturday evening because it was an eating ritual we maintained for ages until we grew old enough and took over the pounding. 💪🏾

But whenever my old man took ill, (common headache) he'd become a child and wait for mum to pamper him, feed him, and massage his body with a cold, moist towel. I would always wonder what made him think he was the stronger sex and she was the weaker one. 🤔

A friend told me of how he went into the labour room with his wife but was shipped out on a stretcher because he passed out seeing the amount of pain his wife was going through to give birth to his child. 😟

I have visited construction and mining sites in Jos and saw how more hard-working the women were compared to their male counterparts who take breaks to eat, drink booze and rest for a while.

Then I asked myself this: are women really the weaker sex?

In the science of recreation, there's the Y and X sperm cells. Where Y is the male sperm and X is the female sperm.

Y sperm: are faster but survive for less time in the female genital tract. 

X sperm: are slower, but they are more resistant and therefore survive longer.  🤔

No wonder men live fast and crash early while the seemingly slow women live longer and are also tougher and stronger than men, but they do not hit this reality button until being strong is the only option left to them. 👌🏾

A lady's lifestyle takes a complete twist the moment she gets married and starts having kids. This is where endurance becomes her middle name. 🤜🏽

Before marriage, most ladies assume that life only gets better and sweeter when they marry the love of their life. Many of them who could not stand any form of suffering or pain while single because they weren't raised through hardship end up going through an unspeakable amount of pain and suffering during their married lives, and they are able to handle it with grace and elegance.

So I concluded that ladies initially lacked the knowledge about the level of tolerance and strength buried in them until they cross the marriage line or become self-reliant. 🤷🏽‍♂️

I have seen how single mums play the roles of both parents perfectly without cracking, I have also seen how wives laboured to feed and cater for their families when the husband is useless, sick, or financially handicapped.

No lady would accept to get married and deal with raising kids alone, a cheating husband who doesn't seem interested in the marriage, or having to work their sock off to provide for themselves what the husband stopped providing. 😡

When men get bored in marriage (caused by over-familiarity) they don't care how the woman survives, or about her happiness and emotions. This is the point where the woman wears her superhero costume and takes charge of her life and sanity... Without minding the man, of course. She MUST be strong for her kids.

Sometimes I tell myself that, if ladies knew half the strength that was packed into them by God, they would hustle more and make a heck of a living instead of just hanging around and wasting all that time trying to be sugar-babies, slay queens, or wife materials.

Women are far stronger than men, they can endure and tolerate hardship more than men, they just need to uninstall the "living on, and for the man" mentality, and face life with a clear head. Like that, they may soon take over governance in Nigeria because they are better at everything, men would just keep quoting scriptures to keep women grounded, submissive, and obedient to a fault.

So, Woman! Know your strength and start using it today instead of later when you should be relaxing and vacationing with your kids because you've already planned your life accordingly when you were still single.
