FOCUS ON YOUR MELONS!
Something happened recently and it seemed like something out of a Hollywood movie.
I was driving down a busy intersection in Abuja and this pretty lady standing beside a parked vehicle caught my attention.
Her beauty wasn't the attraction but her outfit sort of made me curious and I had to stare to be sure it was what I was thinking.
She wore what looked like a formal skirt and a covered shoe but only had a sleeveless vest on. She didn't wear a bra and I know this because her breasts were struggling to remain intact within the thin-layered men's vest. Almost a see-through material.
By the time I noticed that I wasn't the only one staring at this Nature's gift to mankind, I remembered my Christian upbringing and decided to focus on my journey and the desire to make heaven.
As I was about to look away, she raised her top and revealed the overripe melons beneath them. Perhaps she did so because almost all the men on foot and inside passing vehicles stared at her like kids drooling at an ice cream machine.
To the glory of God, I was the only driver who noticed that the traffic light ahead had turned red. I slammed on the brakes but it was already too late.
I kissed the vehicle in front and left my lipstick on the bumper, but it was the Alhaji behind me who allowed himself to be hypnotized by the street show - that nearly sent me to meet my maker. What could I have told God killed me?
Well, about seven cars rammed into each other and in the chaos, two ladies rushed out from a nearby shop, pulled the lady's shirt down and forced her into the vehicle she had leaned against.
It was at that moment that it dawned on everyone that some nuts on the lady's head had come loose.
All the rich, intelligent, handsome, married, and powerful men got derailed by a half-naked mad woman.
The Alhaji behind me had in the front seat of his car, his pregnant wife who was visibly insulting him in Fulani language and slamming her fist on the dashboard. With his legal melons beside him, he still froze before the temptress.
I had to keep driving since the driver, whose car I kissed, didn't even stop for a fight. But I left behind me, a carnage that could have been avoided if we all focused on what was before us.
There are thousands of distractions on every road we choose to ride but our ability to stay glued to the goal sets us apart from those I left behind me in the crash.
Someone might have been running late for an important appointment but decided to take their eyes off the road for just a second, and that was it.
Others may have gotten really close to their destination but ended up not reaching it because they fell to the little distractions along the way.
By the time I got to the office and was asked what happened to the car, I told them a drunkard bashed it at a red light.
I am worried about Alhaji and his safety. The look on the wife's face told me he was going to be doing chores in the house for the next one year.
I pray she doesn't deprive him of his legal rights to enjoy the melons he had procured and left in her custody.
Thank God, I only looked once and passed. 🙄
Stay Focused!!!
